Phase 1 has a total of 20 stations, starting at Jingxi New Town Station and ending at Fuzhou South Station. The entire line is 27.71 kilometers long and is entirely underground. The section between the Agriculture and Forestry University Station and Hongtang Road Station is 2.4 kilometers long.

The Nong-Hong section mainly passes through silt, completely weathered granite, strongly weathered granite, medium-weathered granite with solitary stones, strongly weathered trachyte porphyry, slightly weathered trachyte porphyry, and medium-weathered diabase with solitary stones. The medium- and slightly weathered trachyte porphyry section is approximately 200 meters long. The slightly weathered granite has high uniaxial compressive strength, requiring high demands on the cutterhead of the tunnel boring machine. The silt layer reacts quickly to vibrations, has high compressibility, and low strength, requiring high adaptability from the tunnel boring machine. The geological and hydrological conditions of the section are complex, making construction difficult and posing high safety risks.

The cutterhead performed normally while passing through the 200-meter section of slightly weathered trachyte porphyry and medium-weathered diabase with solitary stones, with no unusual damage.

Challenges

The rock layers in this project had weak weathering resistance, causing severe abnormal damage to the roller cutter. After our company adjusted to a heavy-duty roller cutter, the cutter wear was normal after exiting the tunnel, receiving consistent praise from the client.
